THE DAWN OF A NEW POLITICAL ERA!

I will start by congratulating the president-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria: GENERAL MUHAMMADU OKECHUKWU BUHARI on his meticulous victory in the just concluded 2015 presidential election which was the most contended presidential election since the beginning of democracy in our land between two strong parties.

Since the inception of democracy, PDP has always proven to be the strongest and undefeatable party in Nigeria but today history has been made and CHANGE is here. Before now, I was a die-hard supporter of GEJ campaign trail but now I have to join the winning team not because am in support of the party's candidate but because I want the wind of change to blow in our country.

Beside the election, I think I've understood the real meaning of this popular adage "Destiny cannot be denied but can be delayed", GMB is a living witness to this apothegm. Again, the power of incumbency does not really determine the winner of an election. Although the election results was like a bombshell for many, I still plead with all Nigerians to shun all forms of post-election violence and other social vices because your party lost, but rather let us unite affirmatively and support the new president. A winner has emerged and we can't reverse the hands of the clock.

I also congratulate the outgoing president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria: GOODLUCK EBELE AZIKIWE JONATHAN. Sir, you were truly a good luck to our country and I doff my cap for you on the way you lead our country since you assumed office. Your taciturnity was legendary and I urge you to shun war and bloody vociferations, rather support the new "man" and teach him accordingly for the betterment of our country. I also commend DAME PATIENCE JONATHAN (Mama Peace) on her placid and tranquil behavior while in power. Ma, please don't turn to "Mama War" by supporting post-election violence and committing "Grammatical Blunders" all in a bid to express your anger and infuriation.

Furthermore, I congratulate the INEC Chairman, Prof. ATTAHIRU JEGA on the successful conduction of the 2015 Presidential election. Sir, the PVC and Card Reader technology you introduced helped to drastically reduce the level of rigging during the election. For me, you are "THE MAN OF THE YEAR". Finally, I congratulate all Nigerians who obeyed the electoral rules before and after the elections, but for those who played a part in violent acts during this period, I still plead with you to have a change of heart. It's not a do or die affair. May the souls of all those who lost their lives during the election period rest in peace -AMEN. May God shower GMB the biblical wisdom of king Solomon so that he will lead our country to the promise Land. Long live President Goodluck Jonathan! Long live President-elect General Muhammadu Okechukwu Buhari!! Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!! LET THE WIND OF CHANGE BLOW!!!! Written by: ANIEBO ANTHONY C.
