TOP POLITICAL GIANTS IN NAMMES FUTO, CHAPTER.



Politics is all about influence and making impacts in the society. I personally conducted an in-depth investigation recently which clearly reveals that over the years, there have several political icons in NAMMES. For the purpose of this essay, I will be concerned with those that made impacts in the last five years. This does not in any way limit the possibility of another set of political gladiators that will spring up in the political arena of NAMMES in years to come since change is always constant. In no particular order, I will elucidate you on the political profiles of these young men and women (graduates and undergraduates) who have made valuable impacts in NAMMES and beyond. 


HON. COMMISSIONER COMR. OLUIGBO CHIEDOZIE VALENTINE
He is a die-hard political giant having withstood every political storm that has blown his way during his active years in politics. He was a class rep from 2010-2012 and later handed over when he ran for presidency. In 2012/2013 he became the NAMMES President and he served the association diligently. During his regime, he organized so many programs, NAMMES Excursion, NAMMES Almanac and academic jotter etc. In 2015, he became Chairman, NAMMES Electoral body and he organized a free and fair election that delivered the present day Zealous NAMMES Excos. He was also an ISEC member in NUESA 2015 Election, an ADHOC member FUTO SUG 2015 election and Chairman, Program Sub-committee of NFCS final year seminar. Just like Apostle Paul, he fought a good fight and he’s being crowned with the crown of glory. He was opportune to work as intern in Shell Petroleum Development Company. He’s currently serving his father land. He has great interest in quality leadership and human capital development.

COMR. OWUMS HENRY CHUKWUEBUKA
He is a well-known political titan, a political colossus and a giant in the game of politics in NAMMES and beyond. He started his political journey back then in 2011 when he became the NAMMES Electoral Commissioner, later on he served the association as her treasurer in 2013. On account of his competency, he was appointed the Chief of Staff to then 2014 SUG President. One spectacular thing about him is that he never believes in limitation. In 2015, he contested for the most coveted position in NAMMES and he won by a landslide making him the NAMMES National President. His influence led to the successful organization of the first-ever field trip to Kogi state. He is one of the latest graduates in MME and he will forever be remembered for his contributions to NAMMES. He loves meeting people and he believes life is just a gradual process.

HON. COMR. AMB. CHRISTOPHER TITUS UDO
He was formerly a lawmaker in the 15th assembly and a member of the student’s representative’s council (MSRC) in 2013/2014. He is an Akwa-Ibom born die-hard politician who has served his local government in different capacities. Charity they say begins at home, Hon. Titus began his political career back then in his freshman days. He was the mouthpiece of Etim Ekpo L.G.A and later became the president of the same L.G.A in FUTO. He also served as a class rep in the year 2012 but later handed over when he ran for MSRC. Due to his love for his community, he was the Secretary, Judiciary Council National Association of Akwa-Ibom Students Association (NAAKISS) FUTO chapter and also a member of the electoral commission in 2014. Hon Titus (as he’s fondly called),took his political game to greater heights when he became the Ambassador, Director of Programs, Peace Leadership and Conflict resolution International, FUTO Chapter. Currently, he is the electoral chairman of NAAKISS 2016 election. He is an astute politician, a finalist super innovative stake-holder in NAMMES, very eloquent in speech, a poet, a playwright and he believes in making impact for human development.

COMR. SEN. BARR. DR. ASHIBUDIKE ODILI PASCAL (DWRITER)
He is a barrister and a legal giant on campus and also a political guru in NAMMES and beyond. He was once a class rep in 2011/2012. He is a Delta state born politician who has served in different capacities and has earned so many legal certificates on campus. He was the President, Federated Union of NDOKWA student in 2014/2015 and also an active member in the union. In 2011, he became a barrister in FUTO Judiciary and in 2013 he bagged a doctorate degree in Law making process in FUTO. Having equipped himself with necessary political experiences, he contested for the position of SUG Secretary General in 2013/2014 Academic session but he lost out in the game. In 2015, he became a senator representing Ndokwa house in National Association of Delta state Students (FUTO Chapter). ‘Dwriter’ as he is fondly called is a member of the cutting edge and the founder of “De-Writers Group”. In 2015, he worked as intern in Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC). He is a writer, a socialist, a Christian, a learned man, a legal man, a super finalist stake-holder and an influential politician.

HON. COMMISSIONER COMR. UGWU MOSES TOCHUKWU
He is a political prodigy and a political force in NAMMES and beyond. In 2013/2014, he contested for the post of NAMMES President and won. He led the team that invented a metallurgical microscope during his regime and he also carried out numerous projects while he was the President and He was also the chairman, committee of Presidents NAMMES National. In 2015/2016, he became the NUESA ISEC Chairman. ‘Mostoch’ as he popularly called, is a lover of lawn tennis and chess. He has special career interest in Aerospace and Defense Technology Research and also the CEO of Fortune Biz. He is an orator, an influential leader and a finalist super stakeholder in NAMMES.




COMR. NWOGU ONYEBUCHI CHIJINDU
He is a political colossus and a well-known, feared and respected political juggernaut in NAMMES and beyond. “Jantola” or simply “Tola” as he is popularly called began his political mission in his early days as a freshman in FUTO. In 2013/2014 academic session, he contested for NAMMES Financial Secretary and won, making him a member of the INVENTIVE NAMMES 2013/2014 Excos. Having served his constituency, we decided to take a quantum leap in his political career. The following year, he contested for NUESA (Nigerian Universities Engineering Students Association) Financial Secretary, but as God would have it, he lost out in the game. He is equally the Director of Welfare, Abatete Students Association, FUTO. Tola, is a tall fellow and a lover of sports, He also served in different capacities at Anglican Chapel of Light (ACOL), FUTO. He is very eloquent in speech, a finalist super stakeholder in NAMMES.
 

HON. COMMISSSIONER COMR. ORAEME CHIOMA
She is also a political lady, a well-known, respected and feared female politician in NAMMES and beyond. She believes in gender equality and this has been her political ideology. She began her political journey in her days as a first year student when she ran for the post of Assistant Secretary General and won. The following year, she contested for the post of Vice president and also won adding another feather to her cap. She was also appointed the NUESA ISEC Representative in the 2015/2016 NUESA Election. Like a political juggernaut, she has remained unshaken in the political arena in NAMMES. She believes in putting her very best in all she does. She is a lover of books and also a hyper innovative finalist stakeholder.
COMR. ENYELU JOSEPH CHUKWUEBUKA
He is a political impresario who has maintained a never give up mentality when it comes to politics. He has served NAMMES and beyond in different capacities. In 2014/2015, he contested for the post of NAMMES President and won, making him the Prestigious NAMMES President. During his tenure, he achieved a lot and he also organized the first ever NAMMES Alumni reunion which added a feather to his cap. He was also the Chairman, SEET Committee of President in 2014/2015 and also a member of NFCS eminent 2012 yearbook committee. He is strong stake-holder in NAMMES, an event manager, an altar server, a political colossus, a visionary and influential leader. He also believes in the principles of love in leadership.


COMR. EZEH CHIAMAKA CYNTHIA
She is one of the most influential political lady that has contributed her own quota to the growth of NAMMES. She started her political career back then in 2013/2014 when she contested for NAMMES Assistant Secretary General and won. The following year, she also contested for the post of Vice President and she won making her the Prestigious Mummy of NAMMES. Just like a mother will never forget her child, she carried out her duty well and garnered a lot of experiences which made her to go national. Currently, she is the NAMMES National Vice President and also the Secretary of NFCS Eminent 2012 Yearbook committee. She is an Imo state born politician who is well known for her political shrewdness. She is full of innovative ideas and creativities, loves helping people and she is also a professional bead maker and a wire work designer.

HON. COMR. NOBLE EGBUJOR MAURICE
He is one of the rising stars in the political arena of NAMMES and beyond. He is a lawmaker in the 17th assembly. He began his political mission back then in his year one when he was elected as a class rep in 2013/2014 academic session. He is also an active member of Mbaitolu students association and the Chairman of Mbaitolu Youth wing. In 2015, he contested for MSRC in a keenly election and by divine providence, he won giving his opponent a run for her money. Currently, he is a member of the Student Representative Council and also the Chairman, Committee of Security and Secretary, Committee of Sports. He is also the Secretary General of FESTAC youth empowerment scheme, PZ Cussons teenage idol in 2006 and also a member of FNNB. Hon. Maurice is a hair stylist, an eloquent orator, a visionary leader, a servant of the word and also a philogynist.
