A certain young man was in dire need of a job. He is the president of Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON). He is equally a Charismatic, a legionary, he attends the Holy Mass, attends vigils, crusades but then he had a problem. His Catholic faith was not firm. He does not really believe in the efficacy of what he was doing. Often, he doubts the real presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and most times he attends church programs just to fulfill all righteousness.
After his NYSC, he could not secure a job. He was the first son and everyone looked up to him for daily bread (since his dad was late and his widowed mum was a petty trader). This young man struggled daily on the streets of Lagos to eke out a living. Out of frustration, this young man resigned from his position in CYON, he rarely attended the Holy mass and other Church functions.
His fellow Charismatics were concerned, his parish priest noticed the sudden change, called him and counseled him yet it yielded no fruit.
Practically, he lost hope on his Catholic faith. He needed a job to put food on his table (at least, person wey dey go Church suppose chop food na). He started attending new generational churches. In fact, he attended almost all the churches within his vicinity but yet he was still jobless! One day, his friend introduced him to a “Miracle center” where he will offer sacrifice and he will instantly get a job. Without wasting time, he visited the miracle center. The Prophet told him to come with red linen, his application letter, red candle and his credentials to a mountain at midnight where they will offer the sacrifice. Trust him, he gathered all these and went to the mountain with the prophet.
He was scared initially but then he needed a job. Guess what, seven days later, he got a job in an oil company and that became the beginning of more miseries in his life, he never knew peace of mind.
Now, if this young man happens to be your close friend, will you scold him or will you praise him for what he did? Is his actions justified?
Anthony.
