Man trekking for Buhari narrates his ordeal!
Suleiman Hashimu, also called ‘the traveller’, has set a historical record as the first man to trek from Lagos to Abuja. The 33-year-old solo trekker had earlier promised to embark on the journey if Gen. Buhari wins the Presidential election and that he has fulfilled.
Suleiman arrived Abuja on Monday 20th April 2015, 13days after he started the journey. He was warmly welcomed by the residents of the state. When he was interviewed by press men on why he did such, this is what he said:
“I made the promise for this mission to show my love for the leader of the masses, General Muhammadu Buhari, and for the 13-day journey I have embarked upon, I have condemned five pairs of canvass shoes. I made adequate financial provisions for cross-country trek, but since my journey started, I haven’t spent anything from the money since I’ve been warmly welcomed in every town or village I’ve had passed".
